ResourceMate Tutorials
ResouceMate is the software behind everything at the front desk: managing books, patron accounts, and other everyday circulation tasks.
Whether you're learning ResourceMate for the first time, or need a quick refresher, you can choose one of the short, interactive tutorials below and follow at your own pace.
Circulation
11 STEPS
1. The first step is to open ResourceMate and click Patrons
2. Click New on the bottom left corner.
3. Type in the patron´s first and last name, and the Barcode from the membership card.
4. Click Type of Membership
5. Choose the patron´s membership type.
6. Click Membership Expiry and input the expected expiration date (one year from the signup date).
7. Click Membership Expiry
8. Click Email
9. Type in the patron´s email address.
10. Click Save
11. That's it. You're done adding a new patron into ResourceMate!

Books & Cataloging
10 STEPS
1. The first step is to click on Items tab on the middle of the menu bar.
2. Click the New button on the bottom left corner.
3. Click on the ISBN address bar. and type in the number on the back of the book (with or without dashes).
4. Click on the ISBN Retrieval button.
This will allow ResourceMate to search for the book's information through a range of different library databases.
5. Click on the row that best matches the book's information.
Typically, we choose entries from the Library of Congress.
6. After making your decision, click on the Import button on the bottom right corner.
7. Click on the Library Card tab.
8. Click on the Barcode field and enter the number from the LCC barcode label placed on the back of the book.
You can find the LCC labels in a manilla envelop on the desk next to the front desk.
9. Click Save on the bottom left corner to save the newly added book information.
10. That's it. You're done learning how to add a new book to ResourceMate!

9 STEPS
1. The first step is to click on the Patron Activities tab at the top of the screen.
2. Click on the Check In/Renew tab.
3. Click on the Parton address bar above and type in the patron's Last Name.
4. Click on the Last Name you're looking for from the list of options.
5. If there are no fines due, press on the Close button on the bottom right of the pop-up window.
6. Click the check box on the item(s) that needs to be renewed.
7. Click Renew Selected Item(s).
8. Renewed Items will be due at MEL within two weeks of their renewal date.
Click OK.
9. That's it. You're done learning how to renew books with ResouceMate!
