Randa Cherry earned her Fine Art degree from Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri, in the late 1970s. After a 30-year career as a medical massage therapist, she discovered glass fusion in 2008 during a class at the Regional Ceramic and Glass Fusing Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. When she later moved to Mérida, she found a used kiln, gathered materials, and taught herself to refine the craft. Her fused-glass work has been shown at SoHo Galleries, Le Cirque Galería, Galería Amanecer, and in various Mérida venues.
A participating artist in the MEL Artist Studio Tour since 2018, Cherry shares her creative process with visitors, offering engaging demonstrations that reveal the techniques behind her vibrant glasswork. Her practice reflects curiosity, persistence, and a lifelong devotion to art.
