Ernesto Novelo is a Yucatecan painter, printmaker, and draftsman strongly influenced by pre-Hispanic art, grounding his work in stories, legends, and everyday life. With more than twenty years of professional experience, he has presented solo and group exhibitions in Mexico, the United States, Europe, and Africa, including the Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City, Kunsthalle Wien, the Royal College of Art, and the ZOMA Contemporary Art Center. His work appears in public and private collections such as the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Quintana Roo. Alongside his artistic practice, Novelo works as an independent cultural manager, researcher, and advisor for museums, galleries, and educational institutions.
