Ernesto is a Cuban-born, Mexican naturalized artist whose practice is grounded in painting and shaped by extensive academic training and community engagement. Educated at the Academy of Fine Arts of San Alejandro and the Higher Institute of Arts in Havana, he has combined his studio practice with teaching, including children’s workshops in Havana and Holbox. Now based in Mérida, he is the founder of Taller 62, a hybrid studio and exhibition space dedicated to fostering artistic exchange within the local community. His work has been presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions across Mexico, the United States, Cuba, and Europe, reflecting a career marked by steady exploration, collaboration, and cultural dialogue.
