Painting

Emilio Salazar Touché is a painter who transitioned from figurative art to personal abstraction. While studying product design in 1997, he also painted independently. He joined the Deisy Loria visual collective in 2002 and exhibited in his first major group show in 2003, followed by a 2004 exhibition at the Mexican Embassy in Belize.

After focusing on figurative painting from 2008 to 2012, a pivotal moment came with his 2014 exhibition MIRTIFORME, where he introduced abstract works. Since then, he has fully embraced abstraction, developing a distinctive visual language and participating in numerous exhibitions and biennials.

As a founding member of Elanticuerpo Gallery, he promotes Yucatecan art and works with rural communities on art projects. His most recent solo exhibition, BIOMORFIAS, featured organic abstract works at the Museum of the City of Mérida.
