EMILIO SALAZAR TOUCHÉ

México City

Painting

A self-taught painter, Emilio Salazar Touché joined the Deisy Loria visual collective in 2002 and exhibited at his first major group show in 2003. In 2004, his work was exhibited at the Mexican Embassy in Belize.

After focusing on figurative painting, a pivotal moment came with his 2014 exhibition, MIRTIFORME, where he introduced abstract works. Fully committed to abstraction since then, he developed a unique visual language that has become his signature style and has participated in numerous exhibitions and biennials.

As a founding member of Elanticuerpo Gallery, he promotes Yucatecan art and engages rural communities in art projects. His latest solo exhibition, BIOMORFIAS, showcased organic abstract works at the Museum of the City of Mérida.
