DARIA WILBER
USA
Bookbinding • Marbling • Paper
Daria’s practice centers on the expressive and structural possibilities of handmade paper. For her, papermaking is both a technical craft and a meditative act: each batch of pulp carries its own character, and every sheet requires an intimate understanding of grain, opacity, strength, and texture. She explores paper’s full versatility—casting, cutting, pulling, pouring, marbling, weaving, and sculpting—to create works that highlight the material’s quiet complexity. Trained in painting, printmaking, and papermaking at institutions including the Maryland College of Art and Design and Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, she has taught in Colorado, Tennessee, Mérida, and Ixil. Her work has been exhibited in the United States and Mexico, with artist books held in the Indiana University Library and private collections.
