Supporting CRIT Yucatán 2025
Every peso counts! Your donation can make a difference!
The Mérida English Library is happy to share with our community the fundraising campaign that CRIT Yucatán (Child Rehabilitation and Inclusion Center, for its initials in Spanish) is organizing. It has become a yearly cultural event in which the whole country comes together to support this cause.
Fundación Teletón is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive care for children living with disabilities, cancer, and autism, promoting their development to the fullest and fostering their inclusion in society. With 24 centers across Mexico, they are the best option for local families in need of care and services. We visited the facilities here in Mérida this year, and it was a wonderful experience. Read more here.
All year long, Fundación Teletón accepts donations to help cover children’s treatments at CRIT. Thanks to your contributions, we have been able to support the cases of Jorge Munguía and María Fernanda, among others.
The current campaign includes the “Boteo Teletón”, where you can drop your coins into the cute yellow and purple piggy banks. You can find them on the streets and in local businesses. And of course, MEL has one of these piggy banks where you can leave your donations!
Another initiative is the “Reciclatón 2025”, which promotes recycling while raising funds for the cause.
There will also be a grand event on October 11, as CRIT hosts a Vendor Bazaar at their facilities, with music, local personalities, games, and lots of fun for the whole community. This will be the final day for contributions.
On national TV, you’ll be able to see stories of children across Mexico whose lives have been transformed thanks to this great program.
On your next visit to MEL, be sure to leave your donation in the piggy bank—peso by peso, it all adds up and truly makes a difference.
