MEL Talks - Don Ellison

The Big Bang - The discovery that the Universe began in the Big Bang about 13.8 billion years ago is perhaps the greatest scientific discovery of all time. Understanding this event requires confronting and accepting concepts far beyond our everyday experience. Don will describe the majestic ideas behind the Big Bang and subsequent expansion of the Universe as accurately as possible, keeping jargon and mathematics to a minimum.

His talks are geared to non-scientists, avoiding unnecessary jargon and presenting technical subjects in understandable language. No formal background in physics or astronomy is assumed.

MEL Talks begin at 7:00 PM and are free and open to the public. See our entire season lineup here.
