Contemporary Art History of Mexico

During this five session course we will see the democratic evolution of Mexico influencing the atmosphere of creativity, plurality, aesthetics and transgression of the arts in Mexico.

In this course, the political life of the country marks the culture that emanates from Mexico.

Going through turbulence and complex moments, Mexico shifted—with the foundations of modernity—a post-modern and sophisticated profile that deconstructs and plays an important role in the culture of the world.

The course is divided into five lectures/workshops.

The first part of the session is a two hours and a half lecture that looks for a comprehensive dialogue between Raúl Gasque and the students. The workshop is a creative art practice led by the artist Raúl Gasque using different art supplies such as acrylic paint and oil pastels.
