Kermés Mexicana at MEL

🎼 Canta y no llores
Porque cantando se alegran, cielito lindo, los corazones…🎶

The Mérida English Library is proud to announce this event, where we celebrate México’s Independence Day.

History has it, it was early in the morning of September 16th of 1810 when the Independence began and ended 11 years afterward. Nowadays celebrations all over México start on the 15th with a great party overnight with lots of traditional food and drinks. On the 16th, a civic parade takes place downtown for the enjoyment of all citizens and visitors.

On this occasion, we want to take part in the celebration, to share with you part of our traditions and love for our culture.

Join us on Friday, September 15, starting at 10 am until 1 pm to live the experience of our KERMÉS MEXICANA!

Kermeses in México are popular public parties where you can find drinks, snacks, games, and activities, for the amusement of the community. Inspired by the same spirit, we are throwing this party on the patio of MEL.

Taste the flavor of Mexican traditional dishes and sweets from our cash bar, as well as refreshing drinks.

Enjoy music that will make you sing, and folkloric dance performances that will make you move.

Participate in the games during the Kermés and enjoy the company of the MEL Community.

Wear your favorite Mexican traditional attire.

This event is fundraising for the benefit of the Mérida English Library.
