A Library Implies an Act of Faith - Victor Hugo
Established in 1996, the Mérida English Library has grown its collection now to +19,000 items to use in the facilities and to check out with your membership. As a community center, MEL is home of different programs and events for the enjoyment of the population that speaks English, from the expat community to the local bilingual people.
MEL has recently gone through a remodeling process, adding a new color to its walls, new wooden shelves in different spaces, and a new patio look with a fabulous back garden.
The International Day of Libraries on October 24 marks the beginning of our donation campaign to support the Mérida English Library, in order to continue the good work with all its programs and events.
Support your library with your donations:
Candies for our piñata during Posada Mexicana at MEL event.
Holiday decorations (to use in the library)
Craft supplies for our events (markers, crayons, colored pencils, scissors, glue, googly eyes, craft paper, foam paper, wooden sticks, etc.)
Books (check our wish list and/or contribute books from your own collection (check our policies here)
Second-hand items (functioning appliances, furniture, decor, antiques) to sell during our next bazaar
Monetary donations (everything counts, from coins in our piggy bank on our front desk, cash directly to our administrator, or online https://meridaenglishlibrary.com/donations )
