On your marks, get set, let’s read!

This summer, the Mérida English Library brings back the MEL Summer Reading Challenge for kids!

2. Get your Challenge Card

Once at MEL, ask the volunteer in turn, to register your participation and receive your Challenge Card.

5. Be rewarded

When you reach 20 stamps, it’s time to be rewarded. Bring back your Challenge Card to MEL and exchange it for a special prize!

3. Start reading

Check the Category List and browse books in the Children Section. Check them out at the Front Desk and start reading!

6. Party Time!

The Summer Reading Challenge ends on Saturday, September 30th with a great party at the patio of MEL, where readers can bring snacks to share with others. Let’s have fun together starting at 10 am.

This is your last chance to submit your Challenge Cards!

This is a program of the Mérida English Library that promotes the habit of reading in young audiences. We appreciate the support of families visiting the library. The best way you can support MEL is by becoming a member.

The Challenge?

Read, read, read!

Dive into MEL Children’s Book Collection and discover stories that will take you on a fun summer ride!

But attention! We challenge you to read books from our Category List.

No matter the size, the level, or the author of the book. We are sure you will find something fun and interesting to read at MEL.

  1. Are you a member?

First, let’s make sure you and your family have a valid library membership. Visit MEL and check with a volunteer. You can become a member or renew your membership here!

4. Get your Challenge Card stamped

Once you finish reading a book, take them back to MEL and let the volunteer in turn know what you’re book is about. You’ll receive a stamp on your Challenge Card and then you can choose another book.
