For three decades, MEL has been a community library and more. It has been a place where language opens doors, where cultures meet, and where community is built through shared learning and connection.
Over the past 30 years, MEL has grown alongside Mérida—shaped by students, families, teachers, volunteers, and supporters who believe in the power of education and cultural exchange. What began as a vision has become a vibrant community center, sustained by collaboration, generosity, and a deep sense of belonging.
Today, MEL stands stronger than ever, rooted in its mission and supported by a united community that continues to believe in its future.
To honor this important milestone, we are delighted to invite our community to the MEL 30th Anniversary Gala, an opulent fundraising celebration designed with elegance, intention, and warmth.
The Gala will take place on Sunday, February 1, 2026, from 6:00 to 10:00 PM, at the Hotel Fiesta Americana, a five-star venue located in the heart of Mérida, Yucatán.
Guests will enjoy a thoughtfully prepared three-course dinner, created by the hotel’s chefs, along with a selection of wine and soft drinks included. Every detail has been carefully considered to create an atmosphere that invites conversation, celebration, and connection - reflecting the values at the heart of MEL: quality, community, and meaningful experiences.
