Robert Constable

20th Century Classical Music Ideas in Popular Music

Though composer Rob Constable is an unapologetic composer of avantgarde classical music, he also enjoys listening to popular music as well. He has put together a talk to present some pop/rock songs and describe some pretty avantgarde things going on. We’ll play the 20th/21st century pieces that use the same techniques. These are the ideas that make these songs stand out as different form the rest. Sometimes a very beautiful ballad can have some very radical characteristics!

There will be plenty of time for discussion.
