Erin is a mixed media and paper mache artist. She moved from California to her husband's hometown of Mérida in 2014 and finds Yucatán to be an endless source of vibrant and interesting subject matter for her work. Erin uses paper mache to sculpt in 3D and to turn found objects into a canvas for collage and mixed media. Inspired by the materials and passionately committed to zero waste art making, she often bases an entire artwork on a material otherwise headed for the trash. She revels in the process of uncovering what she calls the "true purpose" of the objects at hand.
