MELVA MEDINA
Morelia, Michoacán
Drawing • Jewelry • Sculpture
Melva built her artistic foundation at La Esmeralda and later at the Academy of San Carlos, where she specialized in printmaking. Guided by master artists such as Abel Vázquez, Gilberto Aceves Navarro, and Arturo Estrada, she developed a practice grounded in disciplined craft and a deep curiosity for materials. Over the years, sculpture, printmaking, and drawing have become the core of her creative language, each medium shaping the way she explores form, memory, and the physical presence of the handmade.
With more than eighty exhibitions across museums and cultural institutions in Mexico, her career reflects a steady, thoughtful evolution—one rooted in dedication, mentorship, and a lifelong commitment to visual expression.
